Abiodun Reiterates Commitment Towards Completing Amosun’s Ongoing Projects

The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has reiterated his commitment towards the completion of all the ongoing projects embarked upon by the immediate past administration led by Senator Ibikunle Amosun.

He dislosed this during the post Inauguration Thanksgiving Church Service held at Cathedral Church of St Peter, Ake, Abeokuta, the state capital.

Abiodun while addressing the congregation noted that “All on-going projects across the State would be completed because their tax and resources have been committed to it”

He used the medium to show gratitude to the awesomeness of God assuring citizens of the State that he would live by his words and promise.

The governor who was accompanied by his wife, Chief Mrs Bamidele Abiodun restated his plan to resuscitate the Public Works Department to hasten the construction of rural and township roads.

According to him, “In the course of our campaign, we realized there is a huge gap between the rural and urban roads and we have decided to bridge this gap by repairing or reconstructing them as the case may be because majority of our people dwell in this areas. Hence, we are rescucitating the public works departments to hasten the construction of these strategic roads in order to stimulate our local economy. We have numerated the township, rural and industrial roads that need urgent attention and in no distant future, you will see our works at your backyard. ”

The business mogul further assured the citizens of his proposed Ogun State Investments Promotion Agency which shall be headed by a reputable and resourceful former Managing Director of a bank and would be responsible for pulling of investors into the State.

He also bemoaned the decline in the educational performance of Students promising that a state of emergency would be declared in the education sector soon.

He noted that an education Master plan would be designed for the state which would help the state to deal with the current challenges.

Earlier, the Diocesan Bishop of Egbaland, Rt. Revd. E. O. Adekunle in his sermon, admonished the governor to maintain his humility and never at any point be arrogant in power. He urged Governor Abiodun to beware of sycophants, rumor mongers and soothsayers but should never forget the faithful ones.

In his words “Your claim of humility will be calculated or measured by your behavior in power and you must know that humility is accompanied by kindness, care and charity. There are many people roving around you as friends. May God grant you the spirit of discernment for you to know who to retain and who to throw away.

Some only come around when it is rosy. Do not leave behind the ones who took the risks and invested their time in making you governor. You have to make them happy. Beware and be careful of peddlers.

They will show themselves as godsons but are dangerous. Please, ensure you make your image makers happy and let them reap the benefit of democracy and I also want you to know that you are not better than others but only enjoyed the grace of God. Hence, to who much is given, much is expected. Ogun State citizens have a great expectation from you. I will advise you not to compare yourself to others rather, set your own goals and God will make you surpass your predecessors.”

Among the dignitaries that graced the thanksgiving service were the former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Deputy governor, Engr Mrs Noimot Salako-Oyedele, Chief Justice of the State, Hon Justice Mosunmola Dipeolu ,former Governor Gbenga Daniel, former governor of Cross River state, Chief Donald Duke, Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon Suraj Adekunbi, former speaker Tunji Egbetokun among others
