Akarigbo Charges MAUSTECH Visitation Panel On Objectivity
The Visitation panel set up by the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, to look into the issues that had engulfed the establishment of Ogun Polytechnic Ipokia and Moshood Abiola University of Science and Technology, (MAUSTECH), have been charged to be objective in their deliberations and recommendations.
The Akarigbo of Remo Land, Oba Victor Adewale Ajayi gave the charge while receiving members of the panel during a courtesy visit to his palace.
Oba Ajayi said that the Committee needed to be meticulous in analysing the issues confronting the institutions, with a view to find lasting solution to the matter on ground.
He explained that the State has many institutions, which Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, (MAPOLY) was one of the foremost, not only in the State but the country at large, noting that it should be allowed to continue to operate and adequately funded.
According to him,”Ogun State has many institutions in existence, which MAPOLY is one of them and is doing well. MAPOLY has built a name for long, as a leading institution amongst others and must not be allowed to die just like that”, enjoining government to concentrate available resources on the existing institutions and be adequately funded to achieve desirable results.
Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman of the panel, Professor Segun Awonusi, appreciated the Akarigbo for granting them audience, adding that the primary reason for the visit was to seek the counsel of the King, especially, as he was a royal father, whose advice would not be taken with a pinch of salt in the panel’s deliberations.
The panel also paid a courtesy call to the palace of the Alake and Paramount ruler of Egbaland, during which they met the Chiefs in Council in the absence of the Alake.
