The All Progressives Congress (APC) Ward Congress Appeal Committee for Ogun State has declared last February 18th ward congresses peaceful and in full compliance with the party’s guidelines.
Addressing a press conference at the APC state secretariat, Iyana Mortuary, Abeokuta, on Friday, the committee’s chairman, Comrade Philip Shuaib, gave a clean bill of health to the exercise conducted on February 18, 2026.
“The Ogun State APC ward congresses conducted on the 18th of February, 2026, were very peaceful and followed the party’s guidelines,” Shuaib told journalists.
Flanked by other committee members—Abeeb Aileru and Pastor Kenneth Asekomhe—the chairman revealed that since the conclusion of the exercise, the committee has not received a single petition from any aggrieved member or group.
“As we speak, I haven’t received any petition from anybody since the conduct of the ward congress,” Shuaib affirmed.
He extended the committee’s appreciation to the leadership of the Ogun State APC, with special recognition to Governor Dapo Abiodun and all elected leaders whose efforts, he said, contributed to the peaceful conduct of the exercise.
Looking ahead to the forthcoming local government congress, Shuaib urged party leaders to maintain the same level of peace and order.
“We urge Ogun APC leaders to make the local government congress as peaceful as the ward congress,” he charged.
The committee’s briefing signals a smooth internal democratic process within the Ogun APC, as the party prepares for the next tier of its grassroots leadership election.
