
The Balogun Egbe Obaneye Obinrin Akile Ijebu, Chief (Mrs) Ayoola Fehintola-Brat has joined other sons and daughters to mourn the exit of the Awujale and the Paramount ruler of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona who breathed his last yesterday at the age of 91.
Though, of old age, Fehintola-Brat described the demise of Awujale as a remarkable loss to the entire Yorubaland and Nigeria in general.
‘It is with sadness we receive the news of the death of our father, the Awujale of Ijebuland. Baba, who I will describe as the architect of modern Ijebu served his people in the last 65 years with dignity, charismatic leadership and honour, outstanding feats which has placed Ijebuland on the world map.
Baba, reinvigorated and added glamour to the Regberegbes in a bid to meet up with communal development across communities in Ijebuland. Our cherished father, we can only but pray for the repose of your soul and beseech Almighty God to rest your soul peacefully’, Chief (Mrs) Ayoola Fehintola-Brat concluded.
