Beijing needs to make its plans visible to the world: US top diplomat Blinken | World news

The United States was able to move forward with its relationship with China following President Joe Biden’s meeting with President Xi Jinping last year, but that requires Beijing to clarify its own plans, Washington’s top diplomat said Tuesday.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken made the comments at a press conference at the end of the Group of Seven (G7) meeting of wealthy democracies in the Japanese city of Karuizawa.
Biden met Xi in Indonesia in November for a three-hour meeting aimed at preventing strained relations between the two countries from spiraling into a new Cold War.
China’s foreign ministry urged the US to stop talking about imposing “guardian measures” on the two countries’ relations.
“The United States has formulated and implemented wrong policies against China based on a wrong understanding of China,” the company’s spokesman Wang Wenbin told a regular press conference, blaming this for the current tense situation.
