Olajide Osoba, Abeokuta

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ogun State chapter has denied speculation that, Senator Buruji Kashamu, worked for the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship candidate, Prince Dapo Abiodun in the last general election.

The PDP, State Deputy Chairman, Samson Bamgbose stated this on Tuesday in an interview with news men during the state party executive meeting, where some people were elected to fill existing executive positions.

He noted that it was just a mere rumour, adding that it should be seen as speculations not fact.

You will recalled that immediately after the election, Kashamu sent a congratulatory message to Abiodun, fueljng strong speculations that the party secretly worked for Dapo Abiodun

In his words, “How can somebody (Kashamu) dishing out millions and billions of naira to win an election agree to work for another candidate.”

According to him, Buruji Kashamu is a very liberal guy, he is not the type of person to negotiate with any candidate. The person to be be faulted is Ladi Adebutu who signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Allied Peoples Movement (APM). Ladi Adebutu is the originator of the crisis within the party, not Buruji.”

He also denied rumours that the State Chairman, Dayo Bayo had resigned his position.

“PDP is very much intact in Ogun. People say politics is a very dirty game, but I don’t see it like that. It depends on how you play it. It is a game of strategy. We cannot remain stagnant. There is nothing bad if I am congratulating the winner of the election. We have to move forward.”

”The only thing we are expecting from this government is good governance. Anything short of that is zero.”

The positions included the state organising secretary, State woman leader, State Deputy woman leader and the State publicity secretary
