Breaking: LG Allocation Deduction Allegation: Abiodun Approves 300m For Ogun LGs

Following heated controversies generated by the allegation of monthly allocation deduction, the Ogun state Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has approved the sum of 300 million naira for the 20 local governments in the state.

Gateway Times Nigeria had few days back punctured the report by the state government that it was augmenting the monthly allocation of local governments in the state, rather than deducting it.

Previously, sources revealed that each LG chairman only received a paltry sum of #2.5m monthly when Gov Abiodun came on board as Security Votes, but was later increased to N3m following a protest by the Council chairmen.

It could be recalled that council Chairmen are to release N300,000.00 to the LG Vice-Chairmen. While a sum of N350, 000 are again deducted for ‘Abeokuta’. The salary of a Council Chairman is pegged at N306,000 in Ogun State.

The disclosure on the new development was made today at the JAC meeting which held at the Governor’s office in Abeokuta, the state capital.

With the new arrangement, Gateway Times Nigeria scooped, each of the local government in the state will now receive N15m (Fifteen Million Naira) monthly to enable them embark on various projects in their council areas.
