The founder of the group, Hajia Kudirat Adeshola stated this on Monday in a release signed by the Executive Director of the organization, Comrade Olugbenga Soloki in commemoration of this year’s International Children’s day.
According to her, today’s celebration should remind government on the need to provide welfarism for the children ,including proper health care, quality education and other basics of life that is their rights.
”All equipment of our public schools remains an infringement on the rights of the children who study under dehumanising environment and such negates several international conventions on the protection of the vulnerable children”
She also stated that the girl child education must be supported by all governments as they remain the future hope.
The SHE Africa Initiative founder lamented over the deplorable condition of the health sector in Nigeria, saying that most public health facilities have become mere consulting clinics and death centers.
She called on the federal government to give attention to Education and well being of the people
The group equally call on well meaning Nigerians to also support the Government in providing succour to the less privileged in the society, maintaining that,so many societal ills will be dealt with if all actors support the education of the vulnerable in the society.
”I want to implore all state actors to see the development of the poor children as top priority, thought small but children have the capacity to change the nation positively or negatively as they may be a threat to the society if they are not well catered for. So, we must secure the present and future of country’s leaders to make a beautiful nation. The future of our children must be given attention by all”
According to Hajia Kudirat Adeshola Dada, the organization was formed by people who are passionate about the development of the Continent ,and as it’s proper, charity begins at home. So,we want our government at all levels to ensure priority is given to the education of the children who are leaders of tomorrow and they shape the future of the country.
Our visit to some of our public schools shows clearly total neglect as some of them are in deplorable conditions, while some are without adequate chairs and desks. That’s why we are appealing that attention must shift towards our future leaders by providing them with proper learning equipment and protect their rights. The commercialisation and privatisation of education in Nigeria has negative effects on our public schools as experienced and highly qualified teachers migrate to the private schools for better pay and conducive working environment.”
She therefore pledged his readiness to support the education and well being of the children of the poor who are vulnerable. The education of the poor children should be accorded priority attention at all times, saying that government might not be able to fully provide all the needs of the people.
