Court Jails Man, 30 For Stealing #230 Cashew Nuts In Ogun

The Magistrate court sitting in Isabo, Abeokuta, Ogun State has sentenced a 30-year- old man, Fatai Jamiu to there months imprisonment for stealing cashew nuts valued at N230 from Ogun State Agricultural Development Corporation.
The Magistrate, Mr. Olakulehin Oke sentenced the convict after he was found guilty of the offence.
Oke said the prosecution has proven the case ‘beyond reasonable doubts.’
Jamiu was however given an option of N15,000 fine.
Earlier the Prosecutor, Insp. Olu-Balogun Lawrence told the court that the defendant committed the offence on February 2nd at about 5:10 pm at Ibara Orile area of Abeokuta.
Lawrence said the defendant entered into the premises of Ogun State Agricultural Development Corporation where he stole cashew nuts valued N230.
He stated that the Security on duty caught the defendant with the cashewnuts and handed him over to the Police.
Lawrence said the offence committed is contrary to section 383 and punishable under section 390(9) of the Criminal Code law of Ogun State 2006
