Court Asks OGSG To Stop Transfer Of Staff In The State

An Ogun state High Court sitting in Isabo, Abeokuta, has asked the Ogun State Government and the office of the Head of service to stop the transfer of staffs from in and out of the State House of Assembly pending the determination of the suit.

According to the Plantiff, Barrister Wale Olabode,a civil right Lawyer, the action of the Head of service on 12th of April 2019 in transferring a permanent Secretary to the House of Assembly as new Clark contravenes the House of Assembly service Commission law signed by Governor Ibikunle Amosun on 27th December 2018.

According to him, the Civil service Commission of Ogun State acting on the 2003 law of the House of Assembly has on12th May 2012 released all the staff currently working on the House of Assembly to the House of Assembly service commission.

He further stated that the 2018 Law is a booster to the 2012 Law based on the constitutional amendment for autonomy of the House of Assembly signed into law by President Muhamadu Buhari in July 2018, which the 2018 Law domesticated.

The lawyer maintained that, it is the duty of all citizens to make sure that agents of Government obey the laws of the land and comply with the constitution at all times.

Meanwhile, the presiding Judge, Justice Onafowokan after hearing the motion experte ordered both plantiff and the respondents to appear before him on 7th June 2019.
