Cut Your Ties With APM, Apologise To PDP, Bayo Dayo Tells Adebutu, Others
Dotun Adeboye, Abeokuta
The state Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ogun state, Engr Bayo Dayo has asked former House of Representatives member, Hon Ladi Adebutu and others members in his group to severe their tie with the Allied Peoples Movement, APM and thereafter seek for forgiveness from the leadership before they could be seen as genuine members of the party in the state.
Bayo Dayo made this call in a statement issued on Thursday, August 22, 2019 and made available to Gateway Times. The party Chairman who was apparently making reference to a unification meeting organised by the Ladi Adebutu’s group to broker peace within the state chapter of the party described them has meddlesome interlopers who abandoned the party in the wee hours of the last general elections to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).
The party Chairman however appealed to all stakeholders of the party to remain calm, as the PDP leadership in the state have embarked on genuine reconciliation of aggrieved party members in a bid to reposition the party for future elections.

RE: OGUN PDP UNIFICATION MEETING
The attention of the leadership of the Ogun State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been drawn to an unrestrained carousel tagged “Ogun PDP Unification Meeting” which was organised by some meddlesome interlopers who claimed to be members of the Ogun State PDP.
We wish to categorically state that no one else has the powers to convey “unification meeting” except the Engr. Adebayo Dayo-led Executive Committee.
The July 9, 2019 decision of the apex court in favour of the Dayo-led Exco – which is the second in five months – has permanently resolved the Ogun State PDP leadership tussle.
As democrats who believe in internal democracy, we have been reaching out to aggrieved members of the party. We have been talking to founding fathers of the party and we have been receiving positive responses from them.
There is no faction in the Ogun State PDP. Engr. Adebayo Dayo-led State Executive Committee (Exco) is the only leadership of the party in the state.
We want to use this medium to appeal to members of the party to be calm as the leadership of the party is working relentlessly towards repositioning it.
On this note, we wish to, once again, appeal to Abuja politicians and their local collaborators to stop fanning the embers of disunity in the Ogun State PDP. A leader should put himself in position of a leader. Any leader worth the appellation should not be seen to be aiding and abetting illegalities and desperate elements.
These are characters who unabashedly abandoned the party few days to the 2019 Governorship and House of Assembly election, publicly executed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and worked against the PDP and its candidates. They are yet to apologise and atone for their anti-party activities. If they are interested in returning to the party, they should come in through the right channel.
As a law-abiding body, the Ogun State PDP will not hesitate to take legal action (s) against those violating the express verdicts of the apex court with respect to the State PDP leadership. The era of political and judicial impunity and rascality which emboldened most of these characters is long gone. And we hope they know it. They should wake up from their illusion of grandeur and smell the coffee. I, Engr. Adebayo Dayo, remain the substantive Ogun State PDP Chairman. Anything to the contrary is nothing but political gymnastics and deceit.
Signed
Engr. Adebayo Dayo
Ogun State PDP Chairman
Abeokuta.
