Dapo Abiodun’s Wife, Bamidele Marks Birthday With The Needy, Harps On Qualitative Education

The wife of the Ogun State Governor, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun has advocated for effective care of children with special needs, in line with the Child Right Act to quality life, saying it is obligatory for government and individuals to look into their welfare.

          Mrs. Abiodun, who said this while celebrating her birthday with pupils of the School for Children with Special Needs, GRA, Sagamu and Ijebu Ode, appreciated the teachers for grooming the children for a better future, encouraging them to continue the good work, as it would also help in improving their special skills.

          She expressed satisfaction at the general conduct of the children, despite their challenges, admonishing them to be diligent in their studies and vocation towards fulfilling their ambitions, as well as cooperate with their teachers and caregivers, with a promise to look into their requests.

          Earlier, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Oluola Aikulola, appreciated Mrs. Abiodun for choosing to put smiles on the faces of the children on her special day.

          He pleaded with her to assist these special institutions in addressing the numerous challenges facing them, which he listed to include, inadequate classrooms, furniture, instructional materials, computer sets, means of transportation and shortage of academic and non-academic personnel.

          The head teachers of the two schools, Mrs. Meadows Jaiyeola of Ijebu Ode and Mrs. Remilekun Olaniyan of Sagamu, expressed joy at the magnanimity on the part of the Wife of the Governor, saying they had never witnessed such visit.

          Highlight of event was the cutting of birthday cake with the children and presentation of gift items and cash.
