‘Diana cheated first’: Royal auditor says before King Charles ‘reign | World news
Days ahead of King Charles III’s coronation, a royal adviser has made explosive questions about the British monarch’s marriage to his first wife Princess Diana. The director has said that the couple’s ‘dirty’ marriage was affected by infidelity as the world knows but Diana was the first to cheat, the New York Post reported.
In an upcoming documentary titled “King Charles: The Boy Who Walked Alone”, several close aides to the royal family, including a former royal security officer named Allan Peters, share their views on the royal life the. Peters, who worked with the royal family for nine years, said “the first person to get divorced was the Princess of Wales”. His comments come as part of a documentary set to debut on May 2.
“[Charles] he didn’t, until after he realized he was separated. I am talking now about all this because I have not said anything for 40 years, and I have just listened to lies, stupid stories, and it is very sad. There are few of us who can say what really happened,” he said, referring to frequent media coverage of his alleged infidelity with Queen Consort Camilla.
Peters’ comments were in reference to Diana’s alleged affair with her bodyguard Barry Mannakee, who died aged 39 in a car crash in 1987. He said Diana behaved “strangely” around Mannakee, suggesting that he dresses and behaves “differently”.
“It was clear that something was off,” he said. “As far as I can tell, they’re having sex.” Peters also said that when he tried to move Mannakee, the Princess of Wales was upset about it. “[She was] put his shoe on the back of my head. She was devastated, and life was very difficult for everyone,” NYP quoted Peters as saying.
He also said he had a word about the incident with King Charles when the king wondered why the Princess was upset. Peters recounted their conversation saying “Charles said, ‘The only thing that seems to upset you is that Barry is leaving… You can wait.’ “I felt the need to say, ‘He has to go,'” Peters recalls.
Although the couple separated in 1992 and divorced in 1996, their marriage is still a big deal after all these years. Indeed, with the death of Diana in 1997 and the guardian who has died, it is impossible to fact-check whether the allegations are true and requires acknowledgment that they may not show the full picture. However, Peters remained firm about his observations. “Charles never told the truth…he protected his children from that…” she said.
