Embrace Farming, Stop Running After White Collar Jobs, Ogun Farmer Urges Nigerian Youths 

The Chief Executive Officer of the Young Agro Services Limited , Mr Ajibola  Johnson Akindele has urged Nigerian youths to embrace farming and stop running after white collar jobs  

 

The CEO made this known during the  commissioning of his  multimillion naira head office in Owode Egba,  Obafemi Owode Local Government, Ogun State.

 

Mr Ajibola who  is an award wining farmer lamented  that most youths run after white colar jobs.

 

He submitted that farming will bolster the economy, create jobs, earn income for themselves and discourage the ‘japa’ syndrome.

 

Mr Ajibola  encouraged youths in the State to come into the agricultural space, urging them to capitalise and maximise the opportunities in Agriculture production, processing and marketing.

 

He disclosed that he has employed over 30 workers that will be working for him in the head office, saying that they are on monthly salaries.

 

Mr Ajibola added that he is proud to be a farmer, urging  Nigerian youths to return to farming

 

Mr Ajibola who is also a  seed producer certified by National seed council Abuja.said ” i want to thank God for today. We now have our head office right here in Owode Egba , The Young Agro Services Limited. We started from the scratch and we thank God we are here today. I have never  dreamt that as a farmer that i will have a big office like this and apart from that, my company has also acquired 10 tractors that will also help in easing the farming job.

“My message to the Nigerian youths is that they should shun white colar jobs and go into farming because it pays better than white Colar jobs, Government can not provide jobs for all of us and that is why we need to create jobs for ourselves, when you farm you will  harvest and from there you make money. Farming is lucrative let us stop running after colar jobs, there is money in agriculture.

” I want appreciate the ministry of Agriculture in  Ogun State and at the  National level for their support so far and for giving us capacity building to be able to be useful in this area.

“I have been able to employ thirty one workers, i have manager, four drivers, four truck drivers, three supervisors,  nine operators and other casual workers”

Also the Executive Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. Ogunsola commended the award wining farmer for his great initiative, adding that it will help in empowering more youths in the local government.

 

Ogunsola who was represented by Honorable Fasanya Idowu said Mr Akindele has made them proud, calling on other farmers in the LG to emulate him.

 

The Permanent Secretary of Agriculture in Ogun State, Mr Samuel Babatunde Adeogun called on Nigerian youths to embrace agriculture, saying that is the only solution to unemployment in Nigeria.

 

Mr Adeogun appreciated Mr Ajibola for his efforts in encouraging the youths to go into agriculture, saying that he is a successful farmer.

 

He said “We are yet to celebrate one of the young men that is doing well in the agricultural sector and we are glad to be here from the Ministry of Agriculture to show our support for  him and what has been able to accomplished over the time. He has already shown to us that he is the future for our young youths so the youths should also be ready and see that agriculture pays, young people should able to embrace agriculture and when they do it dutifully, there is going to be a lot of successes. He concluded.
