Enough, Governor Adeleke!
I think it’s time Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, retreated from his fault-finding obsession of the last administration of Gboyega Oyetola.
It’s a huge distraction and typically a highway to nowhere. Smart folks don’t travel that delusional road.
Of the constitutional four-year term in the life of any administration, the real time to deliver on electoral promises is usually not more than two before the electoral cycle assumes its place.
This is not factoring into accounts, unintended circumstances with consequences that could impact delivering on promises.
Thus, swimming in popularity and goodwill is one of the greatest good that could happen to any leader. But mistaking those for cheap populism is a trap, only those with wisdom can sidestep.
Governor Adeleke, imbibe the culture of speaking to yourself and upholding the uncomfortable truth at all times.
The sycophants, like the poor, will always be there, but you must learn to speak to yourself, regardless of their lies and goading on.
