Extreme weather causes $165 bn in US damage in 2022: Report | World news

Extreme hurricanes, wildfires, hurricanes, droughts and winter storms caused more than $165 billion in damage in the United States last year with climate change “a major force” in some eyes extreme rain, a US government report said on Tuesday.

The nation experienced 18 separate billion-dollar weather and climate disasters in 2022, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said, with September’s hurricane costing the most at nearly $123 billion.
