Farmers In Ogun Receive Boost As Hon. Wahab Distributes Essential Farming Tools To Over 200 Constituents
A member representing Yewa North State Constituency (II) in the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Wahab Abiodun Egungbohun has empowered over 200 farmers with an essential farming tools in his constituency.
These farm materials include a bag of fertilizer to each farmer, Knapsack sprayer, cutlasses, liquid weed crushers and cash gift support.
Hon. Wahab made the empowerment at his home town, Ebute-Igbooro in Yewa North area of the State.
In attendance included his Honourable colleague, representing Abeokuta North State Constituency, Hon. Tunde Tella, local government party Chairman, Hon. Adeosun, former OGHA member Hon. Akintan Job, Senatorial Women Leader, all councillors in the local governments amongst others.
Addressing the beneficiaries, Hon. Wahab said that he embarked on the programme to alleviate the suffering of the people and to support in boosting the food production in Ogun state and subsequently Nigeria.
The lawmaker explained that the empowerment program was part of efforts towards enhancing agricultural productivity and contribute to food sufficiency in his constituents.
He also explained that the empowerment will assist farmers to cultivate more land with food and cash crops to meet the demands of the people and ensure their families were well-fed.
According to him “This is not the first and will not be the last, we will continue to support our people and ensure the standard of living is boosted for all.
“I’m committed to supporting farming in my community because food is one of Nigeria’s most pressing needs. As farming is a traditional profession for my people, I believe that boosting food production will greatly benefit both my district and the state.”
“With many Nigerians struggling with low salaries, farming offers a vital supplement to their income, ensuring affordable food for all. In fact, I firmly believe that farming is an essential occupation for combating hunger, and I believe this empowerment will be judiciously make use of by all the beneficiaries”
All the leaders in attendance in their separate remarks expressed their optimistic that the empowerment initiative will increase the beneficiaries capacity yield in agro-business.
They urged all the beneficiaries to take the empowerment seriously and give it their uttermost interest, as it could be their fortune-changer.
One of the beneficiaries, thanked the lawmaker for always being there for them and promised to judiciously make use of the items given to him.
