FG Failed To Celebrate Our Fallen Heroes In Nigeria -FIBAN President

The National President of Freelancer and Independent Broadcasting Association of Nigeria, Desmond Nwanchukwu has said that the federal government has failed to celebrate fallen heroes in Nigeria, especially in broadcasting industry.

He also noted that the association is celebrating the 16th and 13th years’ remembrance of Adeboye and Opaleye respectively.

Desmond disclosed this while speaking to news men during the celebration of the two Iconic broadcasters in the industry, Olugbenga Adeboye and Tajudeen Opaleye posthumous birthday held at the Secretariat of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Iwe Iroyin. Abeokuta.

In his words ”government has failed to celebrate fallen heroes, especially in the broadcasting industry, these two iconic broadcasters are source of inspiration to the young ones during their life time and they need to be celebrated in grand style”

According to him, ”I want to appeal to the State chairman of FIBAN to work hand in hand with the two families to set up a foundation in their memory”

The FIBAN President noted that today’s celebration show that broadcaster never forgot their Icons who are called pathfinder.

”People will forget you after two month of your demise irrespective of your impact in their lives, but, I am happy with what is happening here today”

”Meanwhile a trained broadcast journalist, Adeyinka Adegbite, popularly known as Omo Baba Teacher has described the celebration as the best to remember the two iconic broadcasters, saying that the duo have impacted on the lives of many of us”

”He is a source of motivation and encouragement to many of us even those that didn’t meet them during their life time”

Gbenga Adeboye was born on 30th September 1959, while Toba Opaleye was born on 13th July 1958.
