From the field: Climate change in Sudan
The livelihoods of many agricultural families are under threat due to the cumulative effects of conflict, economic and political instability, including increased water consumption from population growth and agricultural development; Climate change is the new threat.
Women in the southern part of Sudan’s White Nile State, who are disproportionately affected by natural and man-made hazards, are encouraged to take a more active decision-making role in local projects which include building a reservoir a water harvest and drought relief and higher yield crops. .
