From the field: UN officials on the frontline in Somalia

Every day, UN officials are on the front lines to support them.

They are part of the field work of the United Nations, speaking to those most affected by the conflict and monitoring how human rights principles and international humanitarian law agreements are respected in situations of conflict and insecurity; such as that of Garowe, Somalia, where nearly 75,000 men, women, and children have fled to safety from nearby armed conflicts amid a conflict that has already displaced as many as 200,000.
