I’ll Not Spare Any Erring Officers Over Misconduct , Ogun CP, Edgal Warns

The Ogun State Commissioner of Police Edgal Oluwole Imohimi has vowed to purge any officers who involve in collection of bribes and infringement on the right of the people of State.

The police boss while launching ‘A Citizen Complaint Hot Center’ a platform set up by him on Tuesday maintained that he knew that there are bad eggs among them, adding that he will not think twice to dismiss any officers found in any unjust acts.

While speaking to news men at the Command’s headquarter, Eleweran, Abeokuta, he added that the platform is set up to checkmate the unjust activities of some police officers who is of the habit of collecting money from the people before they can attend to their matters.

The Commissioner also noted that the development was the only way to rebrand the police force in the state and to identify the policemen who do not operate in tandem with the Command’s vision.

He said, ” it is a center opened 24/7 so as to report the activities of my men. If u see anyone who is misbehaving just call any of the numbers either in your local Egba dialect, English, Hausa or Igbo. I want to assure you that your complaint will be taken and actions will be carried out. I also want to assure you that I will sanction any erring officers”

”I will deal with any officers found in an unjust act. I will flush out dubious police officers from the system. None officer will be spared over misconduct”

He advised that the residents of Ogun State to report any cases of misconduct by any of his officers.

”Any policeman or woman who asks you for money before your matter is being attended to, just call the number. If your right is being infringed by police just call any of the numbers.”

He said that as a police boss he believed in community policing and safety partnerships.

“Everybody knows that the Nigerian police efforts to rebrand the police force are yielding positive result. One of the things that we must do to win back trust and confidence from the people is to report the misconduct of some of our officers to us.”

Imohimi therefore called on the people to work together with Police towards ensuring crime free society.
