IPAC Suspends Arabambi, 5 Others Over Crisis In Ogun

The National body of Inter-Party Advisory Council Nigeria, IPAC, has suspended the state chairman of IPAC, comrade Arabambi Abayomi, the deputy chairman, the secretary and the publicity secretary for period of four weeks over the crisis in Ogun State.
The national chairman, IPAC, high chief Peter Ameh stated this in a statement released on Monday by the council chairman in Abeokuta.
The statement reads, ”that the State chairman agreed to have collected monies on behalf of Ogun State IPAC confessed to have disbursed the monies among a certain circle rather than the entire members of the state council”
”That the action of the State Chairman and all other members involved with respect to the said monies , was an act of financial recklessness”
”That the State chairman in contravention of the code of conduct failed yo call for and preside over a General Assembly or State Executive meeting since his election”
”That the State chairman stood in contempt of the National chairman’s instruction that no member of the Ogun State council should engage the press with regards the ongoing crisis, until the conclusion of the National Intervention. The State chairman had acted in contravention of this instruction via a news article circulated by him on the 22nd of May ,2019”
”That the recommendation of the State Disciplinary committee purporting to suspend the chairman indefinitely was in error, cannot stand and no further action can be built on this foundation, this is by reason of the admission by the chairman of the Disciplinary committee, that the State chairman was not given the opportunity to defend himself against the petitions levelled against him”
The council has ordered the suspended members to refund the sum of money ranging from 5, 000 to 75,000 in their possession, adding that their failure to comply within four weeks, the members will be dealt with.
The national chairman explained that the council has set up a caretaker committee to fill the space of the suspended members.
The members of the State executive committee are Mrs Bolanle Bello as the chairman, Barr. Kehinde Ogunbiyi as the deputy chairman, Adeniyi Banjo as the secretary, Engr. Also Kelani as the treasurer.
