I’ve No Favourite Candidate For Ogun Speakership Position -Gov Abiodun

Ahead of Monday’s inauguration of the ninth Assembly, the Ogun State governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun on Sunday said he has not endorsed any candidates for the State House of Assembly Speakership position.

The Chief Press to Governor, Mr Kunle Somorin who made this known in a telephone interview with our correspondent disclosed that Abiodun won’t dabble into an independent arm of government for any reason.

”The governor and the leaders of the party had not reached a consensus on the choice of the next speaker as they were divided alongside the two candidates”

”The legislature is an independent arm if government and I can assure you that the executive will not interfere in the activities of the Assembly so the governor has not nominated endorsed anybody”

Gateway times gathered that the outgoing Deputy Speaker, Olakunle Oluomo (Ifo 1 constituency) and Elemide Oludaisi (Odeda constituency) are the two contenders, battling for the position from Ogun Central, the senatorial district favoured to produce next speaker following the unwritten zoning arrangement.
