Man, 27 nabbed for allegedly robbing ex- employer of N 40,000 others in Ogun

The Ogun State Police Command has said that it has arrested a 27-year-old man identified as Ebuka Everest for allegedly robbing and inflicting various degrees of injuries on his ex-employer, Mrs Theresa Nnamdi.
The Command in a release by its Spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi maintained that Ebuka was arrested on Saturday September 21, 2019, following a distress call to policemen at Mowe division at about 4:30pm that armed robbers have invaded Nnamdi‘s residence at Association Estate opposite Jehova Witness Church in Mowe, holding occupants of the house hostage.
The release indicated that the District Police Officer (DPO) Mowe division SP Marvis Jayeola mobilised his anti-robbery team and moved to the scene.
It added that the team cordoned off the house and subsequently arrested the suspect who had stabbed the victim on her right hand before tying her legs with rope and covered her mouth with cloth which he tore from her bedsheet.
The statement stressed that the Emeka had worked at the fish farm of his victim before he was sacked due to his shady character.
Abimbola said the suspect first went to the fish farm where he stabbed the farm manager (name undisclosed) severally before coming to attack the woman in her house.
He alleged that Emeka forced his victim to transfer the sum of N 40,000 to his account, adding that he equally ransacked the woman’s room and made away with her laptop.
Other items carted away according to the release were, the sum of N5,000 cash, phones and other valuable before he was arrested by the police with the help of members of the public.
Abimbola said “On interrogation, the suspect claimed to have worked with the victim for 4 months and that he was living with the family throughout that period. He stated further that his problem started when he was duped of his four months’ salary by an online scammer who promised to help him travel abroad but ended up collecting his four months salary and blocked him online.”
He added “In order to have some money with him, he went to the farm, stole some items, but was caught by the manager who reported him to their boss and got sacked immediately. It was that annoyance that made the suspect to first went to attack the farm manager before coming for the madam.”
Recovered from him were a knife, broken bottle, rope, phones, laptop and other items he stole in the house.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Bashir Makama has ordered the transfer of the suspect to State Criminal investigation and intelligence department for discreet investigation and prosecution.
