Man Lands In Police Net For Attempting To Defraud Ogun CP

A 52 year old man, Tayo Ogunmola have been arrested by the men of Ogun State police command for attempting to dupe the State commissioner of Police, CP Bashir Makama.

This was contained in a statement released by the command Public Relations Officer DSP, Abimbola Oyeyemi.

It was gathered that suspected fraudster was arrested following a phone call he made to the CP pretending to be an old herbalist.

The suspect who at a stage claimed to be a Deputy Inspector General of police who promised to assist the CP only if he can give him a certain amount of money.

The release reads that the CP who has been familiar with the antics of the fraudsters decided to play along with him while he sent men of Intelligence response Team to technically track and apprehend the suspect.

The team however traced him to his hideout at Araromi phase ii in Ilogbo area of Ota where he was promptly arrested.

On interrogation, he confessed that he has been a fraudster who had defrauded many unsuspecting members of the public of millions of naira out of which he built the house he is living in preaently.

Meanwhile, the commissioner of police CP Bashir Makama has ordered the monitoring team to propey investigate the suspect with the view of arresting his other accomplices and arraign them before the court of competent jurisdiction.
