Mexican President Obrador sent a picture of what he said was an elf World news

Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador on Sunday shared a photo and said it appeared of a mythical tree spirit resembling an elf. Calling ‘everything as a mystery’, he wrote in Spanish, “I share two photos of our management of the Mayan Railway Works: one, taken by an engineer three days ago, that clear from the aluxe; another, by Diego Prieto of a splendid pre-Hispanic game in Ek Balam. Everything is a mystery (sic).”
One of the photos shared by him shows what appears to be a mysterious figure on a tree. However, reports say that it could be a tree branch with hair, and what could be the stars that make up the face of the figure.
The President’s post has been viewed over 2.8 million times with more than 21.5 thousand ‘likes’. Twitter users were quick to respond to the president’s claims as some of them differed from his claims and posted screenshots of the same image from February 2021.
The Mexican president is known for showing respect for indigenous cultures and beliefs. An engineer, who was deployed to build a tourist train on the Yucatan peninsula, printed the image with an apparently mysterious figure, the president said.
According to traditional Mayan belief, “Aluxes” are small, mysterious creatures that live in forests and fields and have a tendency to play tricks on people, like hiding things. Some people left small friends to comfort them, AFP reported.
