OGSG Recruits Teachers To Revamp Public Primary Education

As part of efforts to revamp the education sector in Ogun State, the State Government has commenced recruitment of 1500 teachers and rehabilitation of Public Primary Schools across the State.

The Board Secretary, Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Mr. Wasiu  Kuye disclosed this during the 2020 Budget, Treasury Board meeting held at the Oba’s Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

The Board proposed a total sum of 7,522,037,359 billion naira which would cover Capital, Overhead and Personnel Expenditure.

Kuye also pointed out that the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun had facilitated the release of 2014 to 2017 Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) Counterpart Fund within the short period he came on board, noting that more funds would be released as soon as UBEC monitoring team confirmed 75percent utilization of the previous funds released.

The Board Secretary also disclosed that Ogun pupils emerged winners of the LAFARGE Spelling Bee Competition at the State level and came second at the national level.
