The lawmaker representing Ogun Waterside State Constituency in the Ogun State House of Assembly (OGHA), Hon Lawal Samusideen Adekunle has again embarked on another self-sponsored project to better the lives of his constituents in the local government of aquatic splendor.
This period, it is the clearing and dredging of all drainages and water channels across Ode-Omi community.
The lawmaker further emphasized that the project will extend to other river-rine communities that are prone to flooding in the local government area.
The project manager, Mr Abayomi Albert who spoke with our correspondent on Saturday noted that the project is one of the usual self-sponsored projects lined-up to embark upon by the Ogun lawmaker for the development of his constituency. Noting that none of the state lawmakers is yet to be awarded their statutory constituency allowance since assumption of office.
According to the project manager, the dredging exercise will, however, channel all the water during the raining season into Lagbadagbulu and Ijala river respectively in Ode Omi, so as to avert flooding being experienced by the residents of the community.
In a related development, Hon Lawee, as fondly called in the political circle, has set in place all machineries to commence the second face of his water project across Ogun Waterside LG, the bore hole projects which will commence in earnest.
The residents of Ode-Omi community were full of joy as they showered prayers, encomium and also expressed their profound gratitude to the lawmaker for coming to their aid at the appropriate time before the commencement of this year raining season.
Recall that, the Ode -Omi borrn politician upon assumption of office had embarked on several life-touching projects and dividends of democracy across the nook and cranny of Ogun Waterside LG, ranging from sinking of boreholes, distribution of books and writing material to primary school pupils, scholarship awards, sports development, stomach infrastructure, palliative and welfare packages, free transportation during salah, free JAMB -UTME forms for indigent candidates among others.
