Ogun CJ Charges Bar And Bench On Exemplary Life

Ogun State Chief Judge, Justice Mosunmola Dipeolu has charged the State’s Bar and Bench to live exemplary life and emulate the late Justice Solomon Sodeke (Rtd.), who served the State diligently while alive.

Justice Dipeolu gave the charge at a special Court Session in honour of the late Justice, held at High Court Complex, Kobape Road, Abeokuta.

She said the deceased was a jurist per excellence and a man of integrity, whose commitment to the administration of justice was second to none, noting that, the State Judiciary and the legal profession had lost an invaluable gem and Jurist.

“There is no gainsaying the fact that this erudite legal icon lived a life worthy of emulation and I enjoin everyone not to be sorrowful at his demise, but celebrate his life and the worthy legacies which he left behind”, Justice Dipeolu said.

She added that late Justice Sodeke was a role model, an incorruptible, brilliant and thorough legal luminary who would be sorely missed.

“I will personally miss this amiable and radiating persona. His life was a gift to the legal profession, particularly to the State Judiciary and indeed to humanity’’, Dipeolu stated.

The Body of Senior Advocates of Nigeria, represented by Sola  Ojutalayo, SAN, said death was a path all mortals must tread whether voluntarily or involuntarily, noting that, the late Justice was a thorough bred Judicial Officer, who excelled on the Bench where he dispensed justice with discernible ease and uncanny erudition.

He stated that Justice Sodeke presided over various matters with finesse and candour.

” Though His Lordship has left this sinful world, his legacies will continue to speak for him. These legacies are his integrity, transparency, good nature and good deeds, amongst others”, Ojutalayo affirmed.

Also, the Latter Rain Assembly Pastor, Tunde Bakare, said late Justice Sodeke was a perfect gentleman who would be deeply missed by those who were fortunate to have crossed his path, urging members of the Bar and Bench to take a cue from the late Jurist for his diligence in the discharge of his enormous responsibilities with honourable disposition.
