The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Ogun state council has described the appointment of one of its members, Mr Kunle Idowu, as Special Assistant to the governor, as one that reflects the commitment of the State governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, in recruiting top talent and fostering a culture of meritocracy.
In a statement signed by the Chairman and Secretary, Comrade Wale Olanrewaju and Comrade Bunmi Adigun, the Union commended Governor Abiodun on the choice of Kunle Idowu as media aide, assuring that his commitment to professionalism and ethical standards, having served in various capacities within the field of journalism for close to four decades, would help in projecting government and its programmes.
The Union said Kunle Idowu has climbed a long rope as far as journalism is concerned and his wealth of experience and unquenchable thirst for service will in no doubt add to the projection of the many strides of this administration.
It then reminded the Governor of the names of two of its members earlier submitted to his office on request by His Excellency for the same purpose which has been in the pipeline with assurances that if approved they will also be an added advantage to the ISEYA mantra which has really transformed the State beyond expectations.
Appreciating Governor Abiodun’s support for the media and his commitment to fostering a stronger harmonious relationship between the government and journalists in the State as a result of his penchant for press freedom, the Union assures strong collaboration and deep commitment to professionalism and ethical communication practices towards achieving to a State of our dream.
