The Ogun State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development reconciled no fewer than 123 estranged couples in just one month.
According to the agency’s monthly report, the matrimonial reconciliation exercise was conducted during fourteen alternative conflict resolution sessions of the Conflict Resolution Desk, established to intervene in cases that could not be successfully handled at the Area offices, before referral to the family court.
The report stated that, sixty counselling sessions were held at various Area Offices and the Headquarters, as well as fourteen alternative conflict resolution sessions within a month, for the estranged couples, adding that a total of N6, 062, 700.00 were facilitated from 413 fathers, as maintenance allowances for 810 children for one month.
