Ogun Waterside LG Aspirant, Kabiru Salami Unveils Key Agendas

...Seeks Support of Traditional Rulers, Party Stakeholders, Others

A chairmanship aspirant in the next local government election in Ogun Waterside, Alhaji Kabiru Salami, has promised to embark on people-oriented programmes that would immediately ameliorate the challenges of people in the grassroots if elected into office.

Salami made this known in an interview with one of our correspondents at his campaign office in Abigi, the headquarters of Ogun Waterside local government, at the weekend.

He stated that it will be easier for him to achieve his transformational agendas because he had lived the better part of his years among the people in the riverine and agrarian communities of the area. Hence, he understands the basic needs of the people.

Speaking further, Salami highlighted sustainable infrastructural development, economic growth and job creation, Improved healthcare and education services, youth and women empowerment through skill development and entrepreneurship opportunities as some of his key agendas.

Salami promised to ensure transparency and accountability in governance as his wealth of his experience in both the executive and legislative arm will enable him meet the target for the betterment of the entire Waterside people.

“Our amiable governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has created an enabling environment for any experienced grassroots politician to achieve his or goals in the state. He has practically touched on every sector, and we are hopeful that our party, All Progressives Congress’s administration will continue to deliver the dividends of democracy.”

Meanwhile, Alhaji Salami has appealed to traditional rulers in the community, APC leaders and other stakeholders to key into his dream, promising not to disappoint them when he emerges as the the party’s standard-bearer in the local government elections scheduled to hold later this year.
