OYRTMA Intercepts Stolen Truck In Ibadan, Implores Citizens To Report Suspicious Vehicular Movements
Earlier today, the Executive Chairman, Oyo State Road Transport Management Authority, Mogaji (Dr.) Akin Fagbemi led men and officers of the Oyo State Road Traffic Maintenance Authority (OYRTMA) to Moniya, Akinyele Local Government Area of Ibadan Metropolis on a special operation to ensure safety and free vehicular movement.
In the course of the operation, an allegedly stolen heavy-duty truck belonging to the Lekki Free Trade Zone (Reg. FZE-104LA, LFTZ ) was intercepted and recovered from some suspected individuals who had been handed over to the Nigerian Police Force for further investigations.
The Executive Chairman thereafter addressed a press briefing where he disclosed the various activities of the Authority in the year 2019 retrospectively and hinted on what is to come in the coming year 2020.
“The Oyo State Government under the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde is poised to protecting the lives and properties of all residents of the State. As part of the four main cardinal focus of the government, Governor Makinde has empowered all relevant security agencies including OYRTMA to enable an enhanced security architecture across the State. The result is what led to the discovery and subsequent recovery of this multi-million Naira heavy-duty truck”, Dr. Fagbemi said.
Speaking further, Dr. Fagbemi said, “we wish to inform the general public that the operation one passenger per motorcycle, one passenger in front seat of Micra taxis and Only riders in front seats of Tricycles (Keke Napep) is still on and shall be fully implemented in the coming year 2020”.
He further advised motorists across the State to desist from drunk-driving and recklessness on the highways as he wishes all a happy new year in advance.
