There was pandemonium at Panseke motor-park, Abeokuta in the state capital on Monday, July 1, as ‘area boys’ gathered to be working for the leader of the committee recently set up by Gov Dapo Abiodun identified as Mutiu Akindele popularly known as Kugbe and those loyal to Iyeru clashed over the control of the park.
The crisis started around 7:30 when the boys of Kugbe gathered at the garage to stop the Iyeru boys from hijacking the motor-park.
When our correspondent visited the scene there was a tight security, where security agencies surrounded the garage to stop any act of killing among the members
One of the Union members who claimed anonymity told our correspondent that Iyeru wanted to become the state chairman by force.
”Can you imagine Dapo Abiodun only set up a committee and Kugbe is the head of the committee, you can believed Iyeru went behind the committee to be selling tickets when he has not been announced the State chairman”
”We are not going to agree with him, he wanted to hijack the garage and we will not take it easy”
Another member identified as subomi told our correspondent that Dapo Abiodun should be blamed for this, saying that if Dapo Abiodun has chose on person to be the State chairman such wouldn’t have happened.
As at the time of filing in this report, boys of Iyeru and Kugbe were still at the park.
