In an interview with Vogue, Queen Elizabeth II’s former press secretary Dickie Arbiter said that Princess Diana’s nickname “Unfortunately” acknowledged that Diana may have been overwhelmed by the media attention but that the nickname “shameful” was used too much for her.

“I first met him about three to four days before the wedding. He’s only 20 years old,” said Dickie Arbiter.

“People call him “Shy Di,” because he keeps his head down when he talks to you. But there is nothing shameful about it,” he added.

Dickie Arbiter continued while talking about a king’s visit to a home for the blind, he said, “You know his height – 5 feet 10 feet. He was careful when he talked to people not to let them feel comfortable and to calm them down talk to them on their level. “

Then Princess Diana stopped to talk to a lady and a gentleman sitting in the entrance hall, both of whom were partially seen during which Dickie Arbiter observed, “You have this ability to react sensitively. You can’t teach anyone to do that.”
