A prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yewa North Local Government, Ogun State, Barr. Titilope Fagbote, on Tuesday extended a generous hand to women in her constituency by distributing essential food items to support them during the holy month of Ramadan.
The distributed items included rice, garri, eggs, including cash gift amongst others, benefiting women across various wards in the local government.
The event, held at the APC Secretariat in Ayetoro, saw the presence of APC, local government party Chairman, Dr.Adekunle Adeosun, Coordinator, Ogun West Women for Yayi, Olori Adebisi Olaotan, Mrs Folasade Yemitan, party leaders, stakeholders, amongst others faithful members of the party.
Our correspondent reports that over one thousand five hundred women benefited from the kind gesture.
In their separate remarks, all the party leaders, chieftains, dignitaries commended Bar. Fagbote for the act of showing love to the people, prayed that God would continue to guide and provide her with more resources to sustain her philanthropic efforts.
While expressing their gratitude, some beneficiaries appreciated the donor for her support especially during the Ramadan and Lengthen fasting periods.
“We are here because of the Ramadan sharing of food items and we pray to God Almighty for this month of Ramadan and Lengthen to continue to bless Bar. Titilope Fagbote for having us in mind, we are so happy and appreciate her “, beneficiaries said.
On her parts, Bar. Fagbote, an illustrious daughter of Ayetoro in Yewa North said its important to give back to the community especially in the holy month of Ramadan and Lengthen periods.
Bar. Fagbote who equally an aspirant for Yewa North Chairmanship in the last election said the act of charity and giving is one she emulated from her mentor and leader, the Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District, Senator Adeola Olamilekan Yayi.
Bar. Fagbote revealed that the gesture was aimed at lessening the difficulties of the poor and to support her constituents during the month of Ramadan and Lengthen fasting.
She therefore called on all well meaning Nigerians, especially those who have, to redouble efforts in assisting the poor and support their various communities to reduce poverty in the country.
