Reckless TASUED Final Year Student Hits Two Colleagues While Celebrating Log-Out

Two undergraduates of the Tai Solarin University of Education Ijebu Ode on Thursday escaped death by the whiskers as they were hit by an unidentified new graduate of the institution who was driving dangerously around the campus.
Gateway Times gathered that the driver of the Lexus car with some of his friends were celebrating the end of their final examinations when he suddenly lost control of the vehicle and in the process hit two undergraduates of the school identified as Erinfolami Samson, a 100 level Economics student and his friend, Olorundero Oluwafemi, a 300 level English student of Tai Solarin College of Education, Omu-Ijebu.
While Samson was rushed to Federal Medical Centre, in Abeokuta due to the high level of injury sustained in the crash, his colleague taken to the institution’s clinic within the campus.
Investigation scooped by Gateway Times revealed that the two students in the car were reportedly drunk as a bottle of liquor was recovered from the Lexus vehicle they were cruising around with.
The Public Relations Officer of the institution, Bakenne Nuraen who confirmed the incident to Gateway Times on Friday, June 28, 2019 in a telephone interview said the driver of the vehicle as well as his friend who was with him as since been arrested and handed over to the police.
Bakeene said the school management frowned at issue of reckless driving among the students which informed why there were some security measures to stem such occurrence including placing a restriction on the use of tainted and unnumbered vehicles by the students.
“We acted promptly immediately the incident happened by rushing one of the students hit by the reckless student to FMC in Abeokuta, while the other one was attended to by the school clinic. However, the students are responding to treatment as we speak,” the PRO concluded.
