Reconstruction of Ikorodu-Sagamu Road Commences Soon -Gov Abiodun

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has pledged to complete all ongoing rehabilitation of road networks within Sagamu and Remo axis and embark on the reconstruction of Ikorodu-Sagamu road soon.

          Governor Abiodun made the pledge during the 35th Sagamu Day Celebration, held at the Akarigbo Palace, Ita-Oba, Sagamu, saying his administration remained focused at ensuring that all roads in the State were in good condition, to aid transportation and industrialization.

          He harped on the importance of good road networks in the State, as it was one of the biggest industrial hubs in the country, promising that roads such as the Oba-Erinwole road and Hospital road currently under rehabilitation would soon be completed, while rehabilitation work would commence on Olabisi Onabanjo and G.R.A roads.

          The Governor stressed that, in line with his administration’s policy of inclusiveness, the choice of roads currently under rehabilitation through the Ogun State Public Works Agency (OPWA) and those earmarked for construction were dictated by the people in the various communities.

          “In our policy of being inclusive and participatory, we did not take arbitrary decision, we consult with the community to give us their priority, the roads we are working on are the ones given to us by the communities”, he explained.

          The Governor assured that his administration would provide a focused and qualitative governance by creating enabling environment for economic growth, as well as the judicious utilization of the over N1bn raised so far through the State’s Security Trust Fund, for the provision of adequate security.

          The Chairman of the 2019 Sagamu Day Celebration and former Governor of the State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, implored the people in position of power to take advantage of the cosmopolitan nature and strategic location of Sagamu as their key selling points to drive more investment into the town and its environs.

          The Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remo land, Oba Babatunde Ajayi commended the State Government for attracting more businesses to the area, listing the commissioning of a Passport Office in Sagamu, inauguration of Remo Security Trust Fund and influx of several corporate organizations into the kingdom, as some of the achievements recorded so far in his reign.
