On Wednesday, Moscow said it will see to it that all ships traveling to Ukrainian ports to be shipments of military cargo and their flag countries to be parties to the conflict on the Ukrainian side, after abandoning a one-year agreement to give ships exporting Ukrainian grain products safe custody despite the war.

Commenting on the decision, the White House said that Russia may expand its targeting of Ukrainian grain resources to include attacks on civilian shipping in the Black Sea.
