The Manhattan district attorney’s office has presented grand jurors with evidence implicating Karen McDougal, who previously said she had an extramarital affair with Donald Trump in 2006, the report said.

The Wall Street Journal reported in 2016 that the parent company of the National Enquirer, which endorsed Donald Trump’s first presidential bid, agreed to pay Karen McDougal $150,000 for her story on the matter. Although, the story was not finally published.

The case is similar to Stormy Daniels who was paid $130,000 in 2016 by former Donald Trump lawyer Michael Cohen. That transaction was not publicly reported until 2018.
