Socio-Economic Challenges: NUJ Zone B To Host Lecture On Journalism’s Role In Tackling Menace

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Zone B is set to organize a public lecture to commemorate Nigeria’s 64th independence anniversary.

The lecture, with the theme “Nigeria @ 64: Journalism in the Face of Socio-Economic Challenges, aims to spark meaningful discussions on the media’s role in addressing the country’s socio-economic woes.

Slated for Thursday, October 3, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., the lecture will take place at the NUJ Press Center, Iwe Iroyin, 9 Gbadebo Street, Oke Ilewo, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Key Speakers at the event will include Demola Badejo, Esq., former Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information, Ogun State – Keynote Speaker, Chief Dare Babarinsa, Chairman, Lekeleke Investment Ltd – Guest Speaker.

The NUJ’s National President, Chief Dr. Chris Isiguzo, MFR is the Chief Host while the lecture will be hosted by Princess Ronke Afebiyowe-Samọ, NUJ Vice President, Zone B.

The event provides a platform for media professionals, stakeholders, and the public to engage in constructive dialogue on the challenges facing Nigeria and the media’s potential to drive positive change.
