Stop All Social Vices, Fraudulent Activities, Mapoly Rector Urges Youths

…As Ogun NANS JJC Inaugurates New Executives

The Rector of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Dr. Samson Odedina, has urged the Nigerian students to stop every social vices and fraudulent activities ,adding that they should be hardworking and honest

He also charged them to contribute positively towards bringing back the lost glory of the country by involving themselves in activities that will develop Nigeria.

Odedina stated this on Thursday while delivering the speech during the inauguration ceremony of the National Association of Nigerian students, NANS, Ogun joint Campus Committee,JJC, executives at the Federal College of Education, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

”every social vices such as fraudulent activities should be avoided since hardworking and honesty is the fast route to success”

He reiterated that education should be a priority of all, and not of the government only.

His words “Education should be the responsibility of all, we cannot leave it along to the government, even as students, who are beneficiaries we have roles to play by comporting ourselves well, doing registration on time, even parents have responsibilities and government have responbilities”

He added that the industries and big multi-national companies are not also left out taking proper care of education in our society.

“Even industries have responsibilities, when we turn out these students, these big multi-nationals they are already to take them up, but are they contributing to education, so education should be the responsibility of everybody including government, parents and industries” he affirmed.

The new NANS Ogun JJC Chairman, Tomiwa Bamgbose, also called on his fellow students that they should be ready to take the destiny into their hands.

His words “Today, I want to charge and encourage us that, we shall reclaim our lost glory, we shall collectively bring back smile on our faces because the time is now, we let the oppressor realize that it is no longer business as usual as Nigerian students are ready to put their destiny into their hands and today we say enough is enough”

“NANS call on the Senator Ibikunle Amosun led-administration to as a matter of urgency set up a panel to address the crises in Tai Solarim College of Education, Omu-Ijebu, because the issue has caused a lot of crises on the campus and as a matter of fact, it has made life tough for Nigerian students in that constituency”

He maintained that “Examination has been delayed which has automatically prolong the stay of our students on the campus. NANS condemn the non-balanced attitude displayed by the Senator Ibikunle Amosun led-administration for providing a lasting solution to these crises.

He assured the students of TASCE to remain focused as their administration will ensure to restore peace to the institution”

“Our agitation is not anybody but the system. On this note, I call on all system, stakeholders, that has affiliations with Nigerian students to please review their mode of operation, in the interest of peace and self-dignity’ he ended.

Meanwhile, the NANS national Public Relations officer (PRO) Comrade, Azeez Adeyemi Amoo who also use the medium to congratulate the new elected NANS Ogun and implore them to serve the interest of the Nigerian students with utmost passion.

Awards were also given to the Provost of FCE, Abeokuta, Dr Adetayo Ajayi and MAPOLY Rector, Dr Samson Odedina, for their contribution toward students stability in the state by the association.
