BBC host Lukwesa Burak, who went viral on Wednesday, after a video of him stretching his arms on live TV has finally responded with a note of thanks to all the “surprised viewers.” In a tweet, Burak said, “Thank you guys: Colleagues – current & past, and all you wonderful viewers. X.”
A one-minute video of Burak reacting to show him finishing one segment and switching to the next as he says, “Around the world and across the UK, this is BBC News.” The bulletin then cuts to the next segment but abruptly cuts back to Burak in the studio.
It didn’t take him long to realize the sudden change in the schedule as it seemed surprising but he quickly trained himself. The silence prevailed for more than 30 seconds after the gaffe with the anchor constantly looking down at his desk. The bulletin finally resumes with the anchor saying, “one of the top stories here on the program and we’ve taken care of…”
The clip has amassed over nine million views on Twitter with 40,000 likes at the time of writing this report. Twitter users expressed their love in the comment section and agreed that the ‘mistake’ was entertaining enough.
