Three Inmates Escape From Ogun Correctional Centre, Prison Authority Launches Man-hunt

Three inmates have disappeared into thin air from the Ijebu-Ode Correctional Centre, located on Igbeba Road in Ijebu-Ode local government area of the state, Gateway Times Nigeria can exclusively report.

Impeccable sources close to the correctional Centre revealed that the incident happened few days back in an overnight escape. The prisoners were said to have scaled the fence of the facility in the middle of the night, and bolted away.

Sources added that the various security outfits including warders were caught unaware.

The fugitives were identified as Hammed Adeboyejo, who was convicted of murder and armed robbery, Fatai Taiwo Akande, a native of Ijebu-Igbo who was also sentenced on murder case, as well as Oguntona Aliu, who was convicted of sexual assault.

The So-Safe Corps, Ijebu Imushin confirmed the incident on their WhatsApp platform, and pleaded with the public to help apprehend the fugitive anywhere they are sighted.

The Public Relations Officer, Nigeria Correctional Service, Ogun state Command, MR Victor Oyeleke has however confirmed the report.

Mr Oyeleke added that efforts are in top gear to bring the fugitive back to book.
