Top Muslim Cleric, Orunsolu Tasks Politicians On Insecurity, Poverty, Others

The President-General League of Imams and Alfas, Ogun state and Chief Imam of Egbaland, Alhaji Liadi Orunsolu on Sunday called on political leaders at all levels to use the period of Ramadan to find solution the numerous challenges facing the nation and be God-fearing.

The Chief of Imam also charged them to find solution to insecurity, poverty, Illiteracy, inadequate health care and other essential services in Nigeria.

He stated this on Sunday while felicitating with the faithful Muslims for witnessing another Ramadan season.

“I urged all political office holders at all levels to be God fearing and be dedicated to finding solutions to the numerous challenges facing the nation which include but not limited to insecurity, poverty, illiteracy, inadequate health care and other essential services”

He also enjoined the Muslims in Ogun State to pray for the incoming administration of Prince Dapo Abiodun for a successful, progressive and prosperous tenure as the governor of Ogun state.

”I want to call in the Muslims in Ogun State to take the opportunity of this period to pray for our governor-elect Prince Dapo Abiodun”

”We thank Allah in appreciation of successes recorded by Governor Ibikunle Amosun. As he completes his tenure in office, we wish him more successes in future days of his life”

Alhaji Orunsola congratulated all Muslims all over the world especially those in Ogun State and Nigeria on the commencement of the 1440 Ramadan fasting.

“On behalf of the league of Imams and Alfas in Ogun state, I hereby congratulate all Muslims all over the world especially those in Ogun state and Nigeria on the commencement of the 1440 Ramadan fasting. I also want to enjoin all Muslims to devote themselves fully to the worship of Allah throughout the holy month, and use the period to pray for the progress, peace and prosperity of Ogun state and the nation, Nigeria.”

He maintained that Fasting is not just about avoiding food and drinks, rather, it is an opportunity to strive for inner purification and self- accountability, Ramadan is meant to inculcate righteousness and self discipline.

“Muslims must seize the opportunity of this month to increase their love for humanity, acts of charity, kindness and generosity to their fellow men, and gratitude to Almighty Allah. We should use this opportunity to remember the less privileged and those going through certain life challenges.”

In his words, “As Muslims, the holy month of Ramadan is an opportunity to engage in sober reflections and absolute return to Allah, I urge all of us in Muslims to devote our souls and body in total submission to Allah now and henceforth.
