Two persons have died while eight others were wounded in a road crash along the Idiroko-Ota road of Ogun State.
Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC) authorities in Ogun State confirmed the development which happened on Sunday night.
“The Federal Roads Safety Corps operatives carried out a rescue operation on the Idiroko-Otta route last night involving 10 persons which comprised of 05 male adults, 04 female adults, and 01 female child,” FRSC spokesperson in Ogun Florence Okpe said in a Monday statement.
“The crash which occurred at about 20:00hrs claimed two lives and left eight people injured. Two vehicles were involved with registration number LSR10YD MAN diesel truck and a Toyota Carina with no registration number on it.”
She said the injured victims were taken to General Hospital, Idiroko for treatment, and the corpses of the dead were taken away by the family.
On his part, the Sector Commander of the FRSC in Ogun Anthony Uga advised motorists to always have a clear vision of 150 to 200 meters at night and a controlled speed before overtaking.
