A viral video shows the shocking moment a pizza delivery man assaulted a Texas woman for giving a $5 tip for an order she said was worth $20. The video was posted on TikTok by Lacey Purcival. He identified the DoorDash driver delivering his order as Corey.
Corey rang the doorbell and Lacey opened the door to greet him. Corey almost dropped the pizza while pulling it out of his bag. When he handed it over to Lacey, he thanked her profusely.
Corey started to walk back to his car, but then turned around and said, “I just want to say, it’s a good house for a $5 tip.” Thank you!” replied Lacy. The driver became bitter, saying “fuck you” before exiting the frame. Lacey captioned the video, “So how much should I pay for A $20 pie??” That said, it means you’ve been tipped 25 percent on a $20 order.
Social media users slammed Corey and his behavior on Reddit, with one user writing, “I’m upset that my $18 order received an additional service charge and a non-tip delivery fee. So by the time everything is said and done with tax and fees, with my tip my $18 order is now $32-$35. Great for workers but these costs are harmful to everyone but companies”. Another user wrote, “I have worked for tips as a busser, and server. $5 over $20 is a great idea and the amount of money you make doesn’t matter. Fuck this guy. I would call your manager. “Of course not. Dude needs a new job if he’s expecting a tip that’s half the price of the meal. What a prick,” said one user. “Oh so the client should give you a higher price based on your perception of what a nice house looks like?” said one user.
