We’ll Continue To Strengthen Relationship With Agric Investors, Says Bolu Owotomo

The Ogun State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Hon. Bolu Owotomo has reassert government commitment towards transforming the agricultural sector by strengthening its relationship with investors to foster a sustainable agricultural practice and drive the economy growth of the state.

Hon. Owotomo   gave the assertion during his visit to Food Industrial Park, Ijale, Abeokuta North Local Government Area of the state, said the State Government would not relent in sustaining a cordial relationship and providing a friendly environment for business to thrive.

According to him “We have come to look at what they are doing, also to deepen our relationship with the institution, to ensure they continue to increase their productivity and enhance the livelihood of farmers”.

He explained that the farm situated on 600 hectares of land planting numerous crops and process such as lemon grass, tumeric among other crops, saying this would represent a significant step towards providing job opportunities and conserve foreign exchange. He added that, the park had engaged over 400 youth in agriculture and provided residence for 400 staff of the industrial park.

The Commissioner commended the innovative contributions of the park in promoting urban farming and food production which would enhance food sufficiency, promising that the issue of security would be improved upon in all facilities of the state government.

The Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Micheal Anibi, speaking on behalf of the Management and Staff of the park, appreciated the Commissioner for being supportive. He called for more of government’s presence to enhance the socio-economic development in the area, while encouraging youth to see agriculture as innovative that could boost food security agenda of government.
