When Donald Trump got the name of King Charles wrong in a Twitter blunder | World news
Donald Trump once mistakenly named King Charles during a nasty Twitter rant. The former US president was embarrassed after a spelling mistake in a tweet after his 2019 visit to London. The US president then referred to the then Prince of Wales as the ‘Prince of Whales’ in a tweet which was quickly deleted.
“I meet and talk with ‘foreign governments’ every day. I have just met with the Queen of England (UK), the Prince of Whales, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, the PM of Ireland, the President of France and the President of Poland. We talk about ‘Everything!’ Can I call the FBI immediately about these calls and meetings How ridiculous! I will never be trusted again. With that being said, my full response is rarely played by the News Media. They deliberately left out the important part,” (sic) Donald Trump later wrote.
Users then praised Donald Trump for his mistake.
“‘The Prince of Whales’. So much, Donald Trump. Did you do that on a porpoise?” wrote one while another joked, “Whale’s tweeting there, Mr. President.”
Donald Trump quickly posted a new and correct version of the tweet.
Donald Trump’s visit to the UK
Donald Trump made a state visit to the UK during his reign with his wife and first lady Melania Trump. During the three-day visit, the former US president was welcomed by the late Queen Elizabeth II, the then Prince of Wales and Prince William. A public ceremony was also held at Buckingham Palace attended by senior members of the royal family.
