The Ogun State House of Assembly Chief Whip and member representing Ijebu-Ode State Constituency, Hon. Omolola Bakare, on Friday marked a major milestone in her first term by commissioning several impactful projects for her constituents.
Hon. Bakare, alongside the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, and other party leaders, visited Itamapako to officially commission a 40-unit open-stall market built to support local farmers and traders.
Other dignitaries present included the Ogun State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker; Minority Leader of the Assembly, Hon. Lukman Adeleye; Hon. Adegoke Awoso (Yewa North); Hon. Damilare Alebiosu, Chairman of Ijebu-Ode Local Government; Oba Osusanmi, the Aladeken of Oke-Ako; as well as other notable leaders and party members.
The commissioning tour in the Itamapako area featured the inauguration of several completed projects: 40 Open-Stalls at Itamapako, Borehole Water Projects at Ajegunle Ijada and Ojofa Street, Public Toilet Facility at Oke-Aje Market and Primary Health Care Centre at Sabo Molode.
In her remarks, Hon. Bakare expressed appreciation to the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, and the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, for their unwavering support, which she credited for the successes achieved in her constituency so far.
“I recall visiting these areas during our campaign and making promises to the people. Today, I am glad that many of those promises have been fulfilled, with others set to be completed in the coming years.
“The Itamapako market women requested open stalls, and I am delighted to deliver them today. More projects are in the pipeline for other parts of Ijebu-Ode Local Government. I thank Almighty Allah, His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun, our Local Government chairman Hon. Alebiosu, and other party leaders for their constant support.”
Speaking at the event, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide praised Hon. Bakare’s achievements noting that she is the first member among those elected in the last elections to invite colleagues for a project commissioning.
“If anyone carries out such impactful constituency projects, they deserve commendation. Hon. Omolola has performed excellently, and I have personally monitored her legislative contributions and development efforts. This is my first time commissioning projects in this Assembly, and Ijebu-Ode is fortunate to have such a capable and committed woman,” he said.
The Chairman of Ijebu-Ode Local Government, Hon. Damilare Alebiosu, lauded Hon. Bakare’s dedication to community growth.
“These projects will not only serve our people but also uphold the legacy of our Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun. The health centre and 40-unit market are valuable community assets that will serve diverse needs for years to come,” he stated.
The Iyalaje of Ijebuland, Mrs. Alatishe, also commended Hon. Bakare for her notable contributions, especially toward improving market infrastructure and enhancing the lives of traders.
